My own personal in depth ranking of the weezer discography. A thread.
RTs are appreciated
14. Make Believe (2005)
Yeah, I can't lie this album really fucking blows. If anything Weezer has always been a very entertaining band but this isn't entertaining at all. 4 good songs on an album that has 12 tracks is not very good. Perfect Situation, Beverly Hills
13. Teal Album (2019)
Nothing much to really say. Just a pretty fun covers album. Y'all gave this way too much shit instead of appreciating what it was. A musical shitpost. Genuinely though they're is some really solid covers on here.
Overall 7/10
12. Green Album (2000)
This was the first weezer comeback album. After Pinkerton flopped, Weezer took a 5 year long hiatus and Rivers locked himself in his house so he could work on the anti Pinkerton. Something that was focused on being catchy, with no emotional attachment.
11. Red Album (2008)
Red's a funny little album. A lot of it is dripped in irony and it barely takes itself seriously, until it does. It's a very messy album BUT that does not mean it isn't great. It's not very cohesive but when it hits it fucking hits. 8/10.
10. Radtiude (2009)
The infamous one. This is what people consider Weezer's worst. Some may even consider one of the worst rock albums in general. Imo those people suck. This is a great record with tons of charm and personality. Take all the irony and goofiness of red and times
9. Black Album (2019)
Black is an interesting album. It was promised to be a darker album both instrumentally and lyrically and while that's sort of true it's not in the way people expected, it's feels much more hip hop and pop inspired then any other weezer album
8. Hurley (2010)
Released a year after radtiude. Hurley is a funny record. It absolutely slaps all the way through. The gutiars are crunchy, the hooks are godly, and the vocal performances sound like very shouty, songs like where's my sex and memories sound like Rivers
7. Pacific Daydream (2017)
Wow. Just wow. I can't believe people hate this one so much. I genuinely don't believe we're hearing the same album. You see Weezer has always had pop sensibility but this album completely embracing and it shines throughout. Banger after banger on this
6. Maladroit (2002)
This was released immediately a year after the green album which is quite impressive considering how much different and just so much better this is then green. Every song rocks fucking HARD, the gutiar tone on this album gritty and dirty and is self produced
5. Everything Will Be Alright In The End (2014)
A truly phenomenal "comeback" record for weezer. Every song here feels like it had a lot of heart and thought put into it. Rivers writing is sharp and mature on this album, which is naturally expected from a band going on this long
4. OK Human (2021)
Now you make think its a little werid that i have their brand new album in the top 4 but let me explain myself. This album is truly groundbreaking and memorizing for Weezer. They ditch the gutiars and opt for a full fucking orchestra and it pays off
3. White Album (2016)
This record is absolutely perfect in almost every way imaginable. Truly a morden classic in pop rock. Its the perfect summer album and one of the most catchiest albums I've ever listened to. California Kids is a top 5 weezer song and
2. Blue Album (1994)
Oh man the Blue Album. I mean what really can be said about this record that hasn't been said before. It's truly an amazing experience. Every song on here is perfect. My Name Is Jonas instantly throws you in with that iconic gutiar lick and endearing lyrics.
1. Pinkerton (1996)
Here it is. Weezer's magnum opus. Their best album. MY favorite album in general. Everything about this raw to the core, including the lyrics and production. Rivers voice sounds pained and you can really the emotional anguish he was going through writing this
