This program creates networks of schools supporting schools to improve their behaviour cultures. Almost all of the money goes to the schools to cover staff costs, and the admin to coordinate all of this. The advisors are ALL from teaching/ leadership backgrounds. https://twitter.com/RealGeoffBarton/status/1385336114785959939
We know the experts in behaviour are in schools. That's why the advisors and the lead schools are who they are. We wanted people who understood comprehensive, state school systems, as opposed to schools with fortunate catchments or selection by social background/ aptitude.
The aim is to help schools become the best version of themselves. To build on what they are already excellent at, and learn from other schools who are at a different point of their journeys. We have Teaching Hubs and Research Hubs. I'm proud that we now also have behaviour hubs.
All public programs deserve to be scrutinised, but some of these comments appear to misunderstand that there is a real need for many schools to build skills to help them improve their behaviour cultures. This is a shame, when so many staff, leaders and students deserve better.
We launched this week, and the schools we have on the program are fantastic. Leaders, staff, all driven by a desire to support their fellow colleagues in the teaching sector. Schools helping schools, so they in turn can help others. Nothing could be finer :)
