It’s been an exhausting day at work and exhausting day volunteering for COVID meals. People aren’t even willing to pay for delivery charges, asking for variety of meals from home chefs who have KINDLY offered to cook during their busy schedules. This close to losing it.
If you are getting pro bono services from someone who has kindly offered to care for your meals basis COVID meal guidelines - please stop asking them for “a variety menu”. We are NOT running restaurants, we have full time jobs and have to take care of ourselves too.
Some homechefs do charge a base price - if you are okay to pay for it then please do, do NOT haggle with them. Small businesses are trying their best to help the community, if you are going to argue for a meal that costs as low as ₹60-100 then do NOT order.
This has not just happened to me, but also to people who are volunteering with me! It’s disheartening for us to haggle and explain why a meal containing rice, dal, steamed sabzi, rasam and chapati costs ₹70 and not LESSER. So disappointed.
