I went to Jerusalem a few years ago, and I have to say, I absolutely hated the atmosphere there. It was tense, in some ways unfriendly... lots of armed police and army folks around. It's a city which Israel claims 'undivided'.. it's clearly very divided
I am not an expert but It feels like the young Jewish extremists chanting these things do so, because they see the far-right in the Knesset - and they also see Arab Parties, threatening to get into government.

I.e. They see the polarity, and a vacuum of centrism.
There's no serious voices advocating coexistence. There is Bibi, who ploughs through with settlements. Bennet who looks like he might take over, who'll do the same. Even Gantz supports settlements. And the opposition is a 180 degree flip. End Israel etc
Basically, it's turned into a zero sum game. If you're a young Israeli, your options are far-right or soft right, or centrists pretending they're not on the right, when they actually are. And if you're Palestinian, what have you got to lose, being kept in limbo?
