Sheikh Ali Ahmed Farah is missing for a 6th straight night after he was abducted from his home during a night raid by the notorious US trained Somali Paramilitary Force (Danab) in the city of Gaalkacyo.

Sheikh Ali Ahmed Farah is the founder of the “Imaamu Nawawi” college in Gaalkacyo, which is local college for students from less fortunate backgrounds.

He was abducted from his home by US trained Somali Paramilitary Forces (Danab) in the Horseed neighborhood, which is adjacent to the Abdullahi Isse International Airport in South Gaalkacyo, than whisked away to an undisclosed location by Paramilitary Units. (Danab)

On a similar note, another individual was also abducted that same Night by the US trained Somali Paramilitary Force (Danab) but from a different home.

Mohamed Omar Yusuf, a local journalist. He hasn’t been heard from or seen since but the story doesn’t end there.

Now let’s dwell into who really are “Danab”.

Are they really special forces as some believe ? Or are they a violent paramilitary unit ?

The “Danab Brigade” was formed in 2013 during the Obama era and the reason behind the formation of this unit was to create an “indigenous strike force” in Somalia that is capable of carrying out special operations, namely counter terrorism missions.

Danab receive trained from “Bancroft Global” which are private contractors (Mercenaries) linked to the US State Department and have been operating on the ground in Somalia since the height of the insurgency a decade ago.

Bancroft Global mainly consists of American, European and White South African contractors (Mercenaries) and are not bound to the same rule engagement as the US military and therefore remain immune from accountability and there losses (deaths) in Somalia often go unreported.

The “Danab Brigade” routinely engage in joint operations with private contractors and US special forces, which often time ends in forced disappearances, extrajudicial killings and violent acts of torture.

Take for instance the case of Ahmed Sheikh Mohamed. On the 10th of August 2020 he was abducted by the US trained Somali paramilitary force (Danab) during a night raid targeting his home in the town of Wanlaweyn.

He was found dead the following day. This is a photo of the victim.

The “Danab Brigade” which are funded by the United States are complicit in dozens of forced disappearances and extrajudicial killings over the years in Somalia but most families effected by there atrocities are unwilling to come forward due to fear of retribution.

And despite the mounting evidence of human rights abuses, summarily executions and out right war crimes, some Somalis are still adamant on white washing the crimes of “Danab” by portraying them as some sort of saviors fighting on behalf of Somalia, which is non sense !!!!
