This is going to become a Canadian Big Lie. 1. The UK held down variants with public health measures, then vaccines. 2. Michigan had vaccines but didn& #39;t. 3. Provinces knew when vaccines were and weren& #39;t coming and opened anyway. 4. Canada& #39;s vaccination rate is actually very good https://twitter.com/csiaguy/status/1385603988406550530">https://twitter.com/csiaguy/s...
Borders? Not a great job there, though the trucker supply issue is a big one. Vaccines? Every single expert I have ever talked to says we could never have vaccinated ourselves out of a third wave, not with double the vaccines. Public health measures matter.
And I would add on the Liberals: slow on flights, bad on preparation pre-pandemic but that is probably a pan-Canadian complacency issue, far too self-congratulatory — don& #39;t just say the borders are awesome — but PPE, vaccines, Safe Restart Agreement and financial support was good
But the key point, always, is this: every province could have restrained variants with public health measures. Every one. The UK did it, and they have a freaking variant *named after them*. Canadian provinces were at the wheel, and drove where they wanted to go.
I mean, we are doing just fine. https://twitter.com/bogochisaac/status/1385946482524758018">https://twitter.com/bogochisa...
