man... i can’t stop myself from venting but this book’s ending is so depressing! men do nothing but disappoint
i know it’s impossible for them to have a happy ending or even end up living decent bUT ANYTHING WOULD DO honestly anything but this... unspeakable thing...!!!
you start a book liking a character who eventually starts showing a different side and you can’t help it but despise them, then slowly you begin to excuse their behavior. then again, they fuck up. BIG TIME.
Jacob is unforgivable. i couldn’t find any excuses for THAT scene, even after (almost) repeating it later with Christopher. i felt bad for Caro for she had to face him again but i still haven’t gotten the idea behind her denying her true identity
do we even know whose baby that was? is it his, or Zeb’s? and what happened to Rebecca? i really wanted to know because i grew to like her, such nice lass shouldn’t be brushed aside.
as much as i liked the first half of the book yet i couldn’t give it more than 3 stars, and i thought i’d give it 5!
my favorite part was certainly their first encounter. their army days, in general were full of sweet scenes. but counter to popular belief, i detested the Aunt’s house “shenanigans”; for i liked Rebecca so much it made me uneasy the whole time!
