This is a great thread by Eli, but Florentino Perez did not appear to name-drop French clubs Lens by accident.

The Lens president is Joseph Oughourlian. He is the director of the Prisa Group. A powerful Spanish media company; owning El País, Diario AS, Cadena Ser. https://twitter.com/ElMengem/status/1385588592572047367
Cadena Ser's El Larguero show is where Perez appeared midweek. Diario AS - as below - has run either puff pieces on the ESL or Perez is not name-checked. It is, generally speaking, within their interest for Real Madrid's (and Barcelona's) ambition to succeed. https://twitter.com/MiguelDelaney/status/1385597470298845193
Prisa Group's main 'rival' in Spain is Unidad Editorial (Marca, Radio Marca, El Mundo). They are owned by Italian media conglomerate RCS MediaGroup - which is run by Urbano Cairo.

Cairo is Torino president. Great rivals of Juventus. He called Agnelli a "traitor" for ESL plans.
Florentino Perez is incredibly powerful and influential in Spain. His business interests are often tied up with those of media groups, political figures and associates.
The power of media and control is increasingly evident in the case study of Florentino Perez. His statements this week earned him the derision of football fans across Europe, where he has little influence. Within Spain, backed by many media, ' #CeferinOut' is tonight's top trend.
