The most insidious lie ever sold is that liberal values and feminist values are western, neocolonial concepts.

These concepts existed hundreds of yrs before western civilization. The problem w thinking they’re western, of course, is that it assumes the values are only for western ppl. Freedom for me, but not for thee...because that would be neocolonial. So please accept your fate quietly.

I fully appreciate that these values were only codified and allowed to flourish successfully in the west. That’s wonderful and impressive and to be applauded and appreciated. But the west does not have ownership of them. They are universal human values.
