I completed my @YuuSekio collection! I collected all English cards illustrated by Sekio, including all the promotional prints and variants. Sekio’s beautiful hand-drawn art looks like it was lifted straight off the pages of a fairytale storybook! (Thread 1/9)
Sekio joined the TCG during the Sun & Moon era, with Murkrow appearing in the Guardians Rising expansion. A special stamped Cosmos Holo version of Stufful was given out at Toys”R”Us stores to celebrate the release of the Burning Shadows expansion. It looks so happy! (2/9)
Stufful and Staraptor were reprinted in the Sun & Moon Trainer Kit: Alolan Sandslash & Alolan Ninetales. These prints feature numbers in circles to indicate the order of the deck, so you can follow instructions for a practice game. Delcatty got an early non-Holo release. (3/9)
More wonderful cards; a majestic Lapras, a curious Eevee, and an adorable little backpack Togepi! (4/9)
Caterpie received a special Confetti Holo print in the 2019 McDonald’s Collection. These cards came inside Pokémon-themed Happy Meals. Mesprit highlights Sekio’s wonderful floral backgrounds. The distracted Bidoof and the cute Lillipup are two of my favorite cards! (5/9)
Mesprit was reprinted in the Mewtwo deck of the Battle Academy deck kit, as indicated by the small Mewtwo symbol on the card. I love cards that depict Pokémon in poses we rarely get to see - like the Helioptile charging up, or the Pupitar flying around like a jet! (6/9)
A great thing about collecting a specific illustrator’s cards is that your collection will keep growing as the artist illustrates more cards! There are already three more Sekio cards on the way - including a Ledian with a stunning starry night background! (8/9)
I’m still working on getting all of the Reverse Holo cards together - I just need three more! If you got all the way to the end of this thread, I hope you enjoyed reading it, and maybe even feel motivated to start a collection of your own favorite Pokémon card illustrator! (9/9)
