My time at school from 12 to 16 consisted of:
Boys constantly trying to grope the girls and calling us bitches and whores
Boys pinging our bra straps whenever they could
If we weren’t wearing a bra, which they could tell if sitting behind us, they said we had saggy tits 1/

A special assembly telling the boys that it was unacceptable to sexually harass female teachers
A special assembly telling girls that we had to wear longer skirts so as not to distract the boys
Boys trying to enter the girls’ changing rooms for a dare 2/

Boys constantly talking about the girls in sexualised terms, having ‘top 10’ lists and talking about porn
Boys laughing if a girl’s sanitary protection fell out of her bag
Boys going through a girl’s school bag, finding a sanitary towel and tossing it round the classroom 3/

Boys asking girls if they were on their period and claiming they knew because they could ‘smell it’

This was late 90s and this shit has gotten worse, not better. So, no, under no circumstances should we be moving towards unisex facilities for pre-teens and teens. 4/4
