Disclaimer: This thread is based on what I did before entering med and on what I experienced (and currently) as a 1st year med student. I also had a gap year so I somehow had enough time to prepare (+ it was during quarantine)

1. Enjoy your time before school starts!
This is the most important thing that I learned, because you won't have as much time as you have now when you enter medschool. Most of your time will now be dedicated to studying, even your weekends (unless you manage your time well)

). It was kinda helpful because I was able to review what I learned in undergrad, and to learn new concepts as well.

4. Prepare yourself that medicine wouldn't be easy. There will be days that will be tough because there is so much to do and study. There will also be days when you can chill for a bit and take things slowly. Don't forget to rest once in a while

It is especially hard during these times since everything is done online and we have no assurance as to when f2f classes are possible (blame the g0v/t). But always remember your whys
