*THREAD* Don't find clients, create them

Why the big players are shutting down ad accounts to do this instead
I was on a call last night with a guy that had 320k followers but has made $0 from it

He said it feels salesy & unnatural to sell on his profile

and he's right, it is

Here's what I told him
The point of his social media profiles is to

1 Grab attention

2 Retain and nurture that attention

3 Point that attention to where a sale can happen
Example - Making content about training for combat sports

Then pointing to a free video or PDF or just a DM with you on "3 exercises to rapidly increase striking power"

Clearly everyone who snags that is interested in improving their striking power
From there either in DM or at the end of the video there can be a call to action for personalized training

Selling on the backend

But there's something much bigger that this does, it creates clients instead of finding them
🔑 Most people know their symptoms but they don't know the root cause of their problem

When you show them why they are experiencing those symptoms and what the real root cause is

You immediately are seen by them as they expert who has the solution
It's exactly what I did and do on calls
and I just did it a little with this tweet

He explained his symptoms of why he feels resistance toward selling on his profiles

I walked him through why he feels that way, why those feelings are valid, and how to sell on the backend
I also demonstrated I understand him

I explained I also have a following, explained why I understand that feeling, and how I solved it

🔑 At no point did I say "our product has your solution"

But that conclusion is implied when you demonstrate knowing the root cause
Be compelling not convincing

Lead to conclusions

Give 2+2 let them come to the conclusion of 4 which gives the thought a organic feel

It was their idea to realize you have the solution
What is the difference between finding clients vs creating them?

Creating them is meeting people where they are at.

Knowing their symptoms, posting content on that, DM'ing/talking with them about that

Then leading them to the true root cause for free
Webinars and long sales pages attempt to do this

But the consumer has changed

It's also getting more expensive to drive people to landing pages with ads

Leveraging organic content they are repeatedly being exposed to/educated on the true root causes of their symptoms
With webinars and sales pages it's a now or never type thing

With organic socials/email list/etc day by day they are seeing bits and pieces

Maybe on day 35 of following you something you post really clicks and they reach out
Or on day 3 of following you they download a free PDF about a very specific topic

Then in that PDF it clicks from them and they schedule a call with your link at the end of the PDF
Sometimes the call doesn't close but they keep seeing the content then 4 months later flat out DM you saying "i'm ready to sign up"

So there's a brief overview of what we are doing and what I am seeing shift in the market

As for the next steps...
