1/ At my last agency job, before I left it all behind, I spent the better part of 2yrs being ground down, told I wasn’t good enough & having my confidence crushed.

After I left, I went to therapy to work it through & what I learnt was integral to how I got to where I am now ⬇️
2/ After I’d finished crying & berating myself, my therapist said: ‘the behaviour you were exposed to likely had absolutely nothing to do with you. Often others project their own insecurities as rage & belittling, they need others to feel small so that they can feel bigger’
3/ I took that & I started to reframe each experience using that lens & I could see it. It helped me to see that I was not the problem, I was a part of a pattern of his creation. And so I picked myself up & started heading in my own direction, knowing I was more than capable.
4/ And I repeat that reframe regularly - other people pulling you down, criticising you, hurling their shit at you, often has nothing to do with you & everything to do with them.

So learn to take it less personally. Learn to shut it out & off, to be careful re; what you take on.
5/ because allowing someone else’s negativity & unresolved power issues into your mind will paralyse you, like it did to me.

Enforce your boundaries, keep doing your thing, walk away from toxic people & situations that try to drown you.

And go be better than they ever could be.
