Inspired by recent threads, since people who look up to me should see it;

Players who love ACO-ACV aren't the cause of AC being the way it is now; Ubisoft is.

Like us, these players have found deep resonance with something and most of them are very kind and reasonable.
What's also worth knowing is that more classic AC fans than you may realize do really love these games and especially characters (though for different reasons - obviously). Aggressive disdain against them only serves to make people among you afraid to be honest with you.
I don't like to validate / acknowledge ill-spirited "urgh those Odyssey fans" comments. I get it. I hate Odyssey too! I do! Just like some folks hate AC1. Don't get me wrong. I think Ancient Saga did a lot to damage the integrity of this series in very measurable ways.
I just think it's okay to celebrate the better, warmer parts of these recent titles that do bring a genuine joy to people. The *best* parts of these games that both of these fractured 'factions' love are not even mutually exclusive. Really, with clever work, they're not.
We should continue to request better treatment of this series by the people who oversees and directs it, yeah, absolutely. We all win this way, whatever-the-hell 'side' you're on.

Fighting people who just want to play something cool (like us) honestly just wastes energy.
