* What is plasma ?
Plasma - fluid part of the blood

* Why is plasma donated ?
Plasma of a recovered individual contain antibodies which when infused into a patient suffering from covid induces immunity against the corona virus pathogen(1/n)
* Who can donate plasma ?
A person who has recovered from covid i.e tested negative and free from symptoms for the past 14 days (2/n)
* What should be done before plasma transfusion ?
plasma should be
i) screened for infections HIV, hepatitis and the like.
ii) checked for high levels of antibodies
iii) checked for the compatibility with the blood type of the recipient (3/n)
* Who cannot donate plasma?
Patients with HIV, TB, under cancer chemotherapy, kidney transplant recipients, Underwent recent surgeries, got a tattoo in the past six months aren't eligible (4/n)
Plasma donation won't cause any change in the donar's health as the blood cells aren't extracted.

If you are someone recently recovered from covid-19 infection, do come forward and donate your plasma to save lives !
