We’ve received copies of the embargoed @HRW report from journalists around the world. Here’s some initial points. More in-depth analysis to come early next week. 1/9 --->

HRW has a rich history of antagonism toward Israel & Jews. This report is the worst yet, accusing Israel of crimes against humanity, specifically “apartheid” & “persecution.” Could have been written by @nadplo. 2/9

The @IntlCrimCourt is a central issue in the report. The Rome Statute & ICC developments are mentioned throughout. Recommend the Prosecutor “investigate and prosecute” Israelis. 3/9

The report was written by @OmarSShakir, whose work visa was not renewed by Israel because of his active involvement in discriminatory BDS. No surprise then that many recommendations push #BDS and #lawfare. 4/9

Calls for states to impose arms embargo, travel bans, asset freezes against Israel/Israelis. @hrw must have lobbied Congress too, as a few of the unique recommendations also appear in @BettyMcCollum04’s #BDS bill. 5/9

A particularly pernicious recommendation: Demand for UN investigation that should also cover “companies and officials of other states,” meaning more #BDS. Because all the world needs is another UN inquiry on Israel. 6/9

All the recommendations to Palestinians are really about perpetuating conflict, including reducing security coordination with Israel. An anti-human rights move that will inflame violence. 7/9

Bottom line: HRW’s report is a culmination of decades of obsessive attacks against Israel and denying that a Jewish state should exist. Proving HRW founder Robert Bernstein right - all about BDS, ICC prosecutions, and working to “turn Israel into a pariah state.” 9/9
