since people are misunderstanding let me clarify: yes, u can learn some commonly used words and phrases (though, most japanese people dont really speak like anime characters lol) but as a native english speaker, you are not going to pick up on grammar solely from watching anime.

recognizing and remember words and phrases does not equal speaking a language, especially when a language’s structure is so entirely different from your native spoken language.
