1/3 #FireSafetyBill @LiamFox moves an amendment in the Commons. This is designed to protect leaseholders from forfeiture if they cannot pay costs under the new Fire Safety Order, or which are related to building defects. Text here: https://bit.ly/3dLC1ls 
2/3 The amendment also requires the government to create a legal scheme to force developers, building inspectors, architects etc. to pay. This is a model based on how we already deal with contaminated land and underfunded final salary pension funds (eg BHS/Philip Green).
3/3 This shows that alternatives to protect leaseholders are possible. The government only needs to use some imagination to #EndOurCladdingScandal. The government should let this go to a vote in the Commons on Tuesday.
