Next weekend—Sat 1 and Sun 2 May—it& #39;s the 2021 Toer de Geuze At Home.

Myself ( @BreandanKearney) and Liselot Caura of Beer Secret will welcome all the brewers and blenders of HORAL to the Café In De Verzekering Tegen De Grote Dorst in Eizeringen.

(a short thread) /1
We& #39;ll host live streamed discussions that you can watch as they happen.

The brewers & blenders will answer questions coming in live from those watching—i.e. you.

Qs will be fed to us on a screen and I& #39;ll be moderating to ensure we get through as many of them as possible.

/2
There will also be extra sessions about foodpairing and the Megablend 2021, as well as a quiz you can play in each session, the prizes for which include personal tours in the breweries and blenderies with each of the producers.

On Saturday, we& #39;ll be talking to:

Bruno Reinders (Mort Subite)
Thomas Vandelanotte (Timmermans)
Dirk & Geert Lindemans (Lindemans)
Jo Panneels (Lambiek Fabriek)
Gert Christiaens (Oud Beersel)

We& #39;ll also talk to Frank Boon about how he put together this Toer& #39;s Megablend.

On Sunday, we& #39;ll be talking to:

Sidy Hanssens & John Matthijs (Hanssens Artisanaal)
Karel & Jos Boon (Boon)

There will also be foodpairing sessions with sommelier Andy de Brouwer of restaurant Les Eleveurs and VLOEI-BAR, and with sommelier Yanick Dehandschutter of restaurant Sir Kwinten.

The Toer de Geuze is an event which takes place every two years during which the HORAL (the High Council for Artisanal Lambic Beers) member Lambic breweries and blenderies open their doors to the public at their locations across the Payottenland and Senne Valley.

/7
Unfortunately the Toer de Geuze which was scheduled to take place in 2021 was not possible to host in its usual format due to COVID-19.

This live-streamed event is the first of its kind in the world of Lambic.
