After two hours of sleep, waiting for my sister& #39;s toddlers, I& #39;m taking advantage of the time I have left, (that sounds like a dead sentence, but I love them) to do my review. I& #39;m not a hater, (if I were I wouldn& #39;t have the seasons 1-20 on my shelf.)
First general impression: probably one of the episodes I liked the least.
What should have tipped me off is the hype around it, it has contrary to the purpose, something repulsive for me. Because I end up believing that I will actually like it.
As I was promised something moving, and I like to feel things when I see movies, I wanted to believe it, but I should have known better, after all I went to see Titanic 1 year after its release for fear to be disapointed, which I was... come on Jack, the board was big enough...
As the intro unfolded, my heart began to clench, but not in a good way, and only loosened at the banging of pots and pans, which a year ago was one of the few things to warm the heart, especially when you were like me in the heat of the action.
As the two main events of the episode unfolded next, Olivia& #39;s hostage situation and Amanda and her father& #39;s situation, I thought to myself that if I were a casual viewer, I would have wondered if I were in an episode of svu. But even then I couldn& #39;t get into the story.
Probably because the Covid and its consequences are present in the series since the beginning of this season. And that it was once again a reminder of the reality in which we live. As for the Amanda part, I would still have many things to say,
between her father who openly diminishes her, the actual wife who arrives like a hair on the soup, and the worst for me is the tweet not from a fan but from a writer who mentions "Rollis"i at a tragic moment of Amanda& #39;s life, her father is on a hospital bed, damn,
she is a thousand miles away from thinking about that! I finally felt something very strong at the end when Vanessa comes out and is applauded, I cried, because she had a short break. After one heavy time, like her I could breathe maybe.
But I remain objective and there are things that I liked:
Garland and his absolute trust in Olivia from beginning to end. It makes me want to look forward, it& #39;s a professional relationship in the making that is beautiful to see.
Sonny,What saying about Sonny,
supportive as the best of friends, who showed me for once how beautiful their relationship could be, not in a romantic way, but in a brotherly way. He alone brought a little lightness in his own way by talking about his parents. Without taking away the dramatic of the situation.
Only comforting. (By the way, he still hasn& #39;t agreed or denied having a girlfriend.)
The last few minutes Garland/Olivia also brought tears to my eyes. When Olivia says she is exhausted, she is so touching. The acting was absolute fabulous. (All of the crew)
That& #39;s my kind of analysis. I think I would have enjoyed the episode if it had been some kind of extra. Because that& #39;s what it was in the end.
Last note: Olivia says she& #39;s exhausted, thanks to the OC writers& #39; delicacy to let her rest... https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😑" title="Ausdrucksloses Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Ausdrucksloses Gesicht">
