If I was not so terrified the first time round, I would watch #TheTerror again to see if it really did reference all the paintings I saw in it... 1/
This one was obvious and in the credits -Sea of Ice by Friedrich 2/
This was towards the end, Saturn devouring his Children by Goya 3/
I am sure someone must have already listed these but I can’t find it. This one I am less sure about-The Raft of the Medusa by Géricault (possibly toward the end) 4/
I am pretty confident there’s a Dead Christ painting in there too but I can’t find it on Google because I am not sure who painted it... 5/
Not all paintings -there was also Fenton’s Valley of the Shadow of death 6/
think the very last scene in the first series was also a tableau restaging a famous image but although I can see it in my mind, again I can’t put a name to it 7/
There must be lots more but I “watched” a lot of the series with my head under a blanket, asking “is it over yet?”
I wouldn’t be surprised if Courbet turned up in there somewhere too.
