We need to get Australians vaccinated.

The state-based hotel quarantine system has been an important first line of defence, but it was never meant to be the solution.

Vaccinations are the solution – but for the majority of Australians, they haven’t even begun.

And the hotel system clearly isn't foolproof.

New strains of the virus are spreading between rooms.

People with these new strains of the virus have been in contact with the unvaccinated Australian community.

We’ve seen cases in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne just this week.

Australians have done the right thing. We’ve worn masks. We’ve done social distancing. And millions of us have done lockdowns.

But the Morrison Government is failing to to play its part.

It’s the Government’s job to provide a safe, national quarantine system and to vaccinate the Australian population. At the moment, they are failing to do both.

Scott Morrison has boasted that “we’re at the front of the queue” and “we’re on track”. What absolute nonsense.
