A few weeks back Hillsong Dallas Pastor Reed Bogard changed his bio on his pictureless Insta to “Entrepreneur”. HS made Bogards wealthy enough to be able to take a couple months to spend excessive time in Newport Beach & Palm Beach, FL. Now we know why. @jo1foster @reachjulieroys
This is the most honest thing I’ve seen come out of Hillsong in ages. The only 2 Hillsong Pastors who planted 7 HS US churches (4 East Coast, 2 SoCal, 1 Dallas) have decided to abandon ministry to pursue a flagrantly hedonistic & materialistic life of outrageous luxury living.
Hillsong leadership states none of their pastors have luxury lifestyles. That’s not true. They live in 7 figure houses. They dress more expensively than Hollywood celebs & now they’re schooled enough in luxurious high end living they can earn a living selling flamboyant excesses.
Brian Houston LIED to the entire Hillsong Dallas Campus telling them they were an important part of Hillsong family & he would find them great new pastors. When Brian decided Dallas wasn’t profitable enough for his taste, he shut them down w/ NO notice. His flock are shepherdless
Brian Houston loves saying “One House, Many Rooms”. But what happens when his other pastors decide obscenely wealthy lifestyles aren’t just for the Houstons, so they quit to pursue that lifestyle more aggressively? How many other campuses will Brian close with no notice?
To be clear, Reed was personally mentored by Brian Houston. Reed looked after the Houston’s possessions. Brian instilled the DNA of Hillsong into the Bogards. He entrusted his HS USA dynasty to them. THIS is what is in the hearts of Brian Houston’s protégés: mansions & yachts.
