I don’t blame anyone for being upset at the owners—for wanting them to feel a real connection to our club, to adhere to its ethos without us pressuring them to.

I can’t stand, however, wannabe big accounts that worry more about exploiting a situation than its consequences. https://twitter.com/theanfieldbuzz/status/1385192618850668547
When FSG tried their £77 ticket stunt, I agreed with the opposition of groups like @spiritofshankly, as well as calls to make matchgoing more accessible, but cautioned that any move FSG took unilaterally would widen the revenue gap against rivals and make us less competitive.
Nobody wants to think about that side of the equation, much less clout accounts that define a good owner by their willingness to sign marquee players for marquee money:
Same thing applies here. Calling for FSG to leave is easy. What comes next?

Who is buying Liverpool for its current valuation of £2.94 billion? More importantly, who is forcing this to happen? Unlike Hicks and Gillett, FSG aren’t being forced out by a bank calling in debts.
Are we talking about FSG floating Liverpool on the market, then? Like how Arsenal and United were before Kroenke and the Glazers found them? How did that work out? Very few voices of reason are asking the key question: how likely are we to find “the right” billionaire(s)?
Are we talking about a 50+1 model? How? You’re not just talking about one club, but twenty. You’re demanding that fans force the hand of that many diverse, international ownership groups—many of which quite frankly couldn’t give less of a shit about our dreams.
Do you think Abramovich will cede 51% of Chelsea to a trust after sinking a BILLION pounds into his club?

Do you think Mansour—a prince and deputy prime minister of a sovereign state who literally jails people that publicly piss him off—is going to surrender 51% of City to fans?
Boris Johnson can’t be properly bothered about impending border issues, rampant cronyism, the consequences of Brexit, or a struggling health care sector. Do you honestly think reforming the richest league in the world along supporter-first principles matters to him? Grow up.
Supporters SHOULD demand for football to get better. They SHOULD fight for fair ticket prices and access to their club’s matches. They SHOULD hold their clubs’ owners accountable when they don’t conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the ethos of their communities.
For these things to happen, though, they need to be engaged and organized. People pining for £100m transfers, drawing Xs on Gini’s face, or encouraging the abuse of Adrián won’t get anything done. Supporters need to be listening to people like @spiritofshankly or @SpionKop1906.
Si Steers knows what’s up. That last statement is absolutely key. The owners need to start a meaningful dialogue and offer transparency regarding the club’s needs, priorities, and strategy moving forward. https://twitter.com/sisteers/status/1385333490166681602
