When the Beet Shield SPF news was released by Krave Beauty, I saw a few professionals getting condescending about consumers using “drugstore sunscreens” because they’re “not made/tested like professional sunscreens.”

One problem tho. “Professional sunscreens” don’t exist. 🤨
There is literally no such thing as a pro sunscreen. All sunscreen in the US has to go through the exact same testing to be approved as a drug by the FDA. There isn’t anymore “specialized” testing for certain sunscreens that would make them “professional” or “medical grade”
Medical grade is not a real thing. Medical grade is not a real thing. Medical grade is not a real thing. Medical grade is not a real thing. Medical grade is not a real thing. Medical grade is not a real thing. Medical grade is not a real thing. Medical grade is not a real thing.
I need this drilled into the brains of all the licensed estheticians who are condescending to their clients/people in general due to believing that there’s such a thing as professional or medical grade skin care. When it literally is a made up MARKETING term 😭
If it doesn’t require a prescription from a medical provider it is not medical grade. Everything is OTC unless determined otherwise, in which case it’s a prescription. Which is medication. So, medical grade. OTC? Medical grade??? How?!
