buckynat headcanons ; a heartwarming thread <3

nat likes to paint her nails after a mission, it helps to remind her that she isn’t just a weapon. once she’s finished, bucky lets her paint where the nails would be on his metal arm.

since bucky and nat are very competitive with each other, they’re constantly pranking steve and seeing who can pull off the better scare on him.

the only time nat will properly hold on to buckys waist on a motorcycle is during a mission. if hes just giving her a ride, she’ll be reckless. she’ll turn the other way, stand up, sit sideways and swing her legs, and be confident about her balance. bucky always scolds her for it

nat is the big spoon 90% of the time

occasionally bucky will put on 1940’s music, his muscle memory will take over and he’ll dance with nat like he did as a young man. she admires his happiness as he smiles like a kid while spinning her around.

bucky and nat both hate winter, it reminds them of their past in russia. because of this, the avengers often find them cuddled up in a bunch of blankets with each other during cold days.

after a mission nat would carefully clean off buckys metal arm and it would comfort him knowing she trusts him to touch it.

they share weapons all the time and even have the initials “b & n” engraved on some

bucky and nat often go on old school dates, he takes her to amusement parks and wins her prizes or they canoe on a far away lake.

everytime bucky and nat are with the avengers they speak little jokes in russian to each other to mess with everyone since no one else understands it.

nat likes to help bucky shave the old school way by using her knife skills. they sit on the counter of the bathroom sink and she makes sure it’s perfectly cut and doesn’t hurt at all. bucky admires her and chuckles at her concentration.

bucky and nat are extremely good at trivia and beat everyone as a team.

at home, bucky is a neat freak and nat is the exact opposite, he’s always picking up after her.
