I realize some folks really struggle with being a thoughtful friend and/or partner so here are some tips.

Add your fav folks& #39; important dates to your Google calendar(birthdays, relationship/wedding anniversaries, death anniversaries, vday). Set a reminder for a week in advance reminder. Also, have it repeat each year.
When a friend mentions something in person or on social media that they want to do or get then bookmark it on Twitter on social media, send a link to your email with subject line “Gift idea for _____” or screenshot it & put in album called “Gift ideas for ____”
When your fav person tells you they have an important date coming up (interview, presentation, date, exam) put a reminder in your phone to check in about it. Use reminder app, calendar, tell siri to remind you, tell Alexa. That “Good luck on ______” text may mean a lot to them
Stop asking people what they want for a damn gift. Pay attention! Just ask their friends or partner. Again, pay attention. Folks be having public amazon and Pinterest lists. Folks be tweeting stuff they want all the time. Or when you’re out just be like “What you think of this?”
Buy a book of stamps and some stationery. When someone loses someone, drop a card in the mail. Don’t ask for their damn address lazy ass. Ask one of their friends or family members. If need be, you can google it or find it through the voter search.
If you are near your fav, plan something to celebrate their birthday. Even if they are celebrating with others and/or out of town on the actual date, actively plan something when they return. Doesn’t have to be extravagant, can be going to happy hour.
Call or facetime people on their birthday unless they absolutely hate it. Your stories on IG are cute but pick up the damn phone to show you directly contacted them on their day.
If your partner is always listening to an artist, then go on https://www.bandsintown.com/ ">https://www.bandsintown.com/">... and sign up for notifications when that artist goes on tour and get tickets.
If your partner is passionate about something you don’t understand, Google about it. Look up a YouTube video. You don’t have to learn it in detail, but they may be happy to know you took the time to read an article about something they are super passionate about.
Say thank you a lot. Verbally and also in text. Elaborate on it. Hey ______, I really appreciate you doing ____________, it really made my day.
If your partner struggles with something, then HELP w/o them asking. (Bring in that heavy water that she leaves in the trunk. Ask her to tell you the next time she is going grocery shopping so you can help bring in groceries. Help him clean up.
Leave a sticky note with a word of encouragement on the bathroom mirror before you leave in the morning.
If your friend wants a big ticket item, hit up their other friends and/or partner to see if y& #39;all can chip in to get that gift.
Fellas, most ladies like flowers. Even if you go to trader joes and get two bouqets for $12, just pick up some every blue moon.
You don’t have to publicize when you do a nice gesture and you really don’t have to record it when they are opening up the gift. Most of the times, they will brag about you so let them do that.
Alright that& #39;s enough. Just pay attention and if you& #39;re forgetful, utilize technology to assist you. It& #39;s really the little things.
