I’m going to make a thread of pictures of all the things I had and/or found cool in my childhood. This is the first of many of these threads. This one right here was called a Diskman. It was my favourite gadget when I had it.
There should be a pencil in this picture. 😂🤣.
What y’all know about gaming 😃? This used to give me so much joy.
We used to call this a Tamagotchi (not sure about the spelling). It was a digital pet.
How I used to label my cassettes. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think this might have been my very first TV gaming console. Alex Kidd was a really cool game.
I also once owned this one.
I actually still have this one. At Mama’s house.
I feel like this is probably still my favourite movie of all time. I once had it on Cassette. Unfortunately someone I went to high school with won’t return it.
No, I’ve never owned one 🤣😂. But I was here every Friday. It was my happy place. Renting videos was a family tradition for Fridays.
One of my childhood fantasies was finding girlfriend who dressed like this 😂🤣🥲. My celebrity crush was Aaliyah.
I can’t remember a single episode but I never missed an episode 😂🤣
I used to actually think these clothes were cool.
The arcade was such a great place to go to. It gave me so much peace. 😢
I once had this too. I actually think this console is still around at Mama’s house.
Fridays wouldn’t have been Fridays without the Marinated Steak Pizza.
Remember?
I’m embarrassed but yes. 🙈🙈
I almost forgot Sim City.
This reminds me of when I first went to Quadrant Training as a very young person . What’s mind blowing is I ended working there. RIP Ntate Graham.
I am so grateful to my parents. When my parents took me shopping in Bloemfontein the apartheid laws still existed but my dad had diplomatic immunity and I had the privilege of not realising apartheid existed until I was told about it.
Me, my brother Moshe and my cousin Tinashe used to love to play pretend and we would call ourselves these characters when we played with sticks outside. 🥺
I should actually get another pair. But I remember one of those cool days at the middle school I went to and would bring our blades out to skate.
Back in the 90s there was a strange band from called Prodigy. I used to find their album artworks so cool. Their music was good too.
