My thoughts on the Porto squad.

Marchesin: Top quality keeper, has saved us so much this season, been pretty consistent this season, not as good as last season but still amazing.

Diogo Costa: Controversial but in my opinion he is an average keeper. He hasn’t played much this season apart from a few cup matches in which most of if not all of the goals he conceded are on the weak and usually rotated defence. Solid for Portugal’s U21. 6.5/10

Claudio Ramos: In my opinion he is a keeper too good to sit in the reserves. He is a very experienced and class keeper. Hasn’t played apart from a few Porto B games in which he was class. But due to not playing much I can’t rate him too high.

Manafa: Average right back, very quick but not really that good, he’s okay going foward apart from the crossing, his defending is very weak, gets caught in behind a lot. Can be okay sometimes though.

Nanu: Basically Manafa but worse.

Carraça: Has barely played for the A team but has been quite good for the B team, his free kicks are incredibly saucy. Pretty solid defensively. Reminds me of Maxi Pereira but much better. Has helped the B team a lot. Deserves at least 1 game for the A team in my opinion.

Pepe: Hasn’t been as good this year as he was last year apart from his UCL performances in which he has been good in. Though in the league he hasn’t been the best. Injuries haven’t helped him much though. Still the best CB in the league.

Mbemba: Class. Very quick and very very strong in the air, wins like 99.9% of his aerial duels. 2nd best CB in the league.

Diogo Leite: Decent defender, has played quite a few games especially when Pepe was injured, okay on the ball and solid in the air, can read the play a lot of the time. Very slow though. This season he’s done what he’s had to do, not been outstanding and not been terrible.

Malang Sarr: Not been great, has been playing left back which he is not used to, he is a CB and being put at LB has done him over, single handedly lost us a game this season, been very below average.

Zaidu: Started off well, though something happened and he became the Nigerian Marega. Awful technical ability and awful at crossing. Hope we replace him soon.

Grujic: I rate him quite highly, smart player, good on the ball, amazing passing, quite slow though. Unless he becomes a guaranteed starter I don’t think we should sign him, especially not for 15 mil.

Uribe: Absolute fighter, always puts himself into tackles, good stamina, good at pressuring, very well rounded footballer. Good player.

Sergio Oliveira: Been carrying the team completely, set piece specialist, ain’t that right Juve?

Otavio: Been very consistent, very agile player, very good passing, been a fundamental player in our team this season in my opinion.

Jesus Corona: Ever since the vaccine he hasn’t been the same, has been playing in a different system, much more defensive this year, has still been solid.

Fabio Vieira: When he has played he has been good, had one or 2 bad games but apart from that he has done well, needs more game time.

João Mário: Average footballer, do not rate him very much, happy he’s been pushed away from the first team.

Luis Diaz: Been very bad, started off very well and it looked like he would follow up his amazing 2019/20 season with another consistent season, but he’s been anything but that, has been pushed away onto the bench due to his performances, might be the time to sell him.

Francisco Conceição: The Olival Messi, very agile player with very amazing dribbling, definitely one for the future.

Moussa Marega: Been very bad, 27 games and 7 goals are awful stats for a striker. He needs to go asap. Also needs to lose weight.

Mehdi Taremi: The Goat. Very smart on and off the ball, world class positioning, very good at winning fouls and penalties, had a small run of bad games though unfortunately.

Toni Martinez: Personally I do not rate him, very slow but is a very clinical finisher, good bench player.

Evanilson: Very good technical ability, smart player, clinical finisher, future starter.
