I disagree with the below statement to my CORE. In my opinion this highlights the fault and the lack of knowledge in our youth athletic system. If you are allowing your child’s identity to be determined by the sport they play, the team they are on or the jacket they wear 1/4
You are setting them up for one HELL of an identity crises. Why don’t you take this time to reiterate that the sport they play is what they DO not who they ARE. Teach them that their worth is measured by kindness and character. That they are LOVED no matter what logo is on 2/4
The jacket they wear. The sport will end. Whether they go pro, Olympics, D1 - one day it will be done. And at that point, it’s to late. Who are they now? No one. Nothing. Better people make better athletes. You want to help them? Develop them as a person who isn’t defined 3/4
