Today is Earth day, Indigenous peoples from all over have and will always protect/care for the land. This past November a Nahua man from a village next to mine named Papalutla in Copalillo, Guerrero was murdered for protecting the ecosystem and sanctuary he founded in the
cerro of Tecaballo of Guacamayas and Murcielagos. I've talked about Tecaballo and how vital it is for the people in my pueblo. It's a place with a variety of animals and medicinal plants that my pueblo relies on. My dad would tell me how he would go to el cerro to hunt jabalís
and my grandpa how he would go into the caves to get bat guano to use as fertilizer. Copalillo, Guerrero is a Nahua community known for production of artesanias tejidos de hamacas, sanctuario de murcielagos y guacamayas and balnearios naturales en Papalutla. I
