Some things I've learned in the past few days:

1. A lot of people seem to be attached to the idea that black people have genetically evolved to be intellectually inferior (which is literally racism).
2. A lot of people seem to think that, when you argue against the position that there are genetic causes for a difference in IQ *between races*, you are saying that genes have zero influence on IQ in *individuals*. (But that's not the same thing and nobody is saying that!)
3. A lot of people seem to think that the most "scientific" position is to say there's a genetic factor, despite the lack of evidence, and that to point out the lack of evidence is "unscientific". I.e. that their (genetic) position is neutral and any alternative is political.
I'm trying to remain positive, but based on the numbers of people who think like this, I do wonder how we will be able to bring about the necessary changes to reduce racism.

Mostly though, I'm feeling grateful for everyone who is out there working on improving this situation.
