purva ashada: 13-20’- 26-40’ sagittarius
the deity is apas, the goddess of the cosmic waters. water is the basis of all life, which gives p.a fertility and nurturing energy. many natives with this nak in a strong position live near or have a longing for living near a body of water as it gives them comfort.
going back to theme of fertility, the shakti of p.a is the ability to invigorate or energize which can directly relate to sex. this is also said to be the birth star of mangal (mars), which also gives it a highly sexual nature and appeal.
mars being related to war and intelligence/quick mindedness also shows p.a’s old attributes to war. in old prashna astrology, the moment p.a would show up it was immediately assumed there was a dispute, war, etc.
because of its aquatic association, its related to and even considered by some as the highest expression of venus because of its connection to aphrodite rising from the sea and lakshmi ma as well.
the jupiter-venus influence tears these natives between the divine and the material, as initially, they are unable to see the connection. the actions p.a takes stem from a pure intention from their perspective of wanting to detoxify the world.
these natives can also be quite vain assuming connections to aphrodite and the sirens, they may act like rahu in the sense that they draw in energy to consume, but will discard you in the process if they do not see you as worthy.
purva ashada is the beauty that rises out of mystery, because of its connotations with mermaids and venusian goddesses, it is also associated with nymphs. they are the personification of nature, so in a way they are they are how we perceive life.
water can change according to intention, which can lead into the shadow self but it also brings a sense of refinement. these natives are easily able to transform and help others become their best self.
it is important to remember that refinement distorts the object from its original state, so this may associate p.a’s with many scandals and deceptions, things that may seem rather neptunian in nature.
i would also like to draw attention to the p.a - ardra axis: ganga ma (relating to p.a, a divine river) sits upon shiva’s head (ardra). many natives may feel a connection to shiva as well and benefit from worshipping him.
ganga ma’s mount is a half crocodile half dolphin, she is the goddess of forgiveness and the personification of the ganga river itself. the crocodile is the mount of venus and dolphins can also be associated with p.a through aphrodite and aquatic things in general.
i would like to draw attention to this because many p.a’s are often victimized or self victimize themselves because they do not know how to forgive. this also shows in their vanity and extreme emotions. purva ashada’s biggest challenge is to forgive.
p.a’s often take on the responsibility of fixing a system/person/thing because they have the ability to nurture and detoxify but they must learn that they aren’t meant for just that.
along with p.a comes abundance of the material, through extreme material pleasures and the idea of having everything material imaginable, let’s them peacefully go through the path of enlightenment.
purva ashada shows us a beauty that we are attracted to because it is outwardly appealing. when we approach closer and closer, we see a heaviness of emotions and impulse that we either drown in lovingly or with pain.
