pasupare as a concept is so fucking good like, the characters all go against traditional femininity despite being in a frilly idol band when idols are, by design, usually manufactured standards of femininity made to please men and for young girls to feel the need to purse
this may not be obvious on the surface, but when you take into account things like how maya's trans coded yet still doesn't want to conform to hyper-femininity or how chisato showed an "ugly" side of mental health bc of her growing up in the entertainment industry +
(as noooo cishet men dont wanna see their pretty idol be mean bc her mental health bad) or how eve's fixated on a traditionally masculine aspect of her Japanese heritage and culture, it's all SUCH good writing
after considering this it also makes sense why pasupare moved pareo to tears when she first saw them. pareo was living under the pressure to be the ~perfect japanese school girl~, but here were idols who were being celebrated and supported despite how they were uniquely gnc
pareo was suffering due to the stress of concealing her "love/preference/likes" as this doesn't meet the standards she saw in other idols + her surroundings, but pasupare made her promise herself she'll be open and proud and express herself some day too with that support
but this is just a tappy anime girl game right lol
