Here’s what i have been dealing with this past week trying to figure out @YorkRegionGovt vaccine rollout. A lot of people I know have been getting vaccinated at the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex. They are 18+ and live in hotspots, but that’s it. No other eligibility.

As of today (April 22nd) according to the York Region website these people are not eligible. I have talked to many folks at Southlake and York Region who told me I am not eligible ( I live in a hot spot). I also reached out to some government officials of Newmarket.

Later this week, I was told by someone who got vaccinated at this site the volunteers said that 18+ living in hot spots ARE eligible at that centre for the week.

Frustrated, I went back and contacted Southlake and York Region.

No one could help me. They all said they weren’t responsible for the booking. If I contacted Southlake they said to contact York Region. If I contacted York Region they said to contact Southlake.

No one could tell me if I was actually eligible or not at Ray Twinney

I also was told me that there had been an error in the system where they put 18+ as eligible and they were honouring those people. However, people were still successfully getting vaccinated after booking an app. well after that error had been fixed.

Either @YorkRegionGovt failed to tell the public that they were booking people 18+ at Ray Twinney or they were letting a large amount of ineligible people get vaccinated under the radar. Either way something unethical is occurring.

All I want is for people to get vaccinated. But no one can tell me if 18+ folks are eligible or not. A lot of representatives I talked with on the phone were just as confused as me.

Idk what you have to do, but you need to fix this @YorkRegionGovt.
