(1/2) Zara's been reflecting on yet another over-diagnosis moral panic (apparently the evil internet helps people learn about ADHD, *gasp*). As always, written from a non-disabled/NT standpoint - ignoring medical gatekeeping, growth in awareness & support in ND community. https://twitter.com/zaranosaur/status/1385242718889287683
(2/2) Increasingly worried about some media comment on ADHD recently. Would love to see more critical response from #DisabilityStudies on this moral panic, esp on uncritical uses of labelling/sick role theory. I'll be over here supporting self dx & challenging medical gatekeeping
(3/3) First NICE adult ADHD guidelines: 2008. I've had it a bit longer than that. So, yeah, psychiatrists' answers in 1990s were wrong. My own research, with support from ND community, was right (finally, at age 42). I aim to pay that forward & help others looking for info.
Solidarity with self dx'd & not-yet-dx'd folks <3 I'll just leave these here.

...WOW, I failed in numbering this thread. Can I blame ADHD? :D
