In honor of #IndieBookstoreDay this Saturday, we wanted to talk about why you should always #shoplocal and support indie bookstores (like us!) over Amazon.

The revenue we generate in indie stores goes BACK into the community. In our shop, we feature local artisans, many of whom run women-owned and POC-owned small businesses. Amazon won't recirculate your money in your area. Local indies do.

We recommend books that we know you'll like because WE like them. Not to brag, but we're always going to do a better job than an algorithm. We do this because we LOVE this!

We hold author events, have a community space for birthday parties and book clubs, and work directly with the schools in our area to make sure that kids have the best access to the books and authors they love. So many bookstores across the country do this! Amazon doesn't.

Shopping indie is more convenient than ever. If you buy audiobooks on @librofm then you support your local indies, and most indie bookshops have online stores! http://Bookshop.org  ( @Bookshop_Org) is another great resource to share links and shop online, while shopping indie.
