Twitter is the most powerful social media platform in the world.

However, most people don't know how to use it effectively.

Here are 10 tips that will help you master Twitter...
1/ Allow Me To Introduce Myself

Your Twitter profile is your new business card.

People should be able to quickly understand who you are and what you have to offer.

Pick your banner photo purposefully.

And have a link in your bio so people can learn more about you.

Example:
2/ Content Is King But Format Is Queen

Spacing and formating matters.

When making a list, put the shorter words on top and the longer ones on the bottom.

Bad:

• Banana
• Apple
• Blueberry

Better:

• Apple
• Banana
• Blueberry

(PS: Press alt + 8 for bullet points)
3/ Keep Your Tweets Clean

Don't begin your tweet by tagging someone because it will be posted as a reply instead of a tweet to your audience.

Bad: @person...

Better: Hey @person...

Avoid using too many hashtags in your tweets because #it #makes #the #tweet #look #like #spam.
4/ Write More Threads

Threads are the single best way to grow on Twitter.

Make each tweet so good that it can stand on its own.

Follow this framework:

First tweet = Headline to grab people's attention

Next tweets = Share the story

Last tweet = Have a CTA to follow you/click
5/ Save It Now or Forever Hold Your Peace

When creativity strikes, capture it.

If you come up with an idea, save it in your drafts. Don't let it escape.

Keep ideas in your drafts and this way you'll always have a list of topics to tweet about.

Example:
6/ Type In Typefully

Just like how you save your tweets, you want to save your threads.

But Twitter doesn't let you save threads.

Fortunately, there's Typefully.

It's a free app that lets you save threads & shows you how the formatting will look like. https://typefully.app/
7/ Don't Edit While You Write

The secret to good writing is good editing.

But don't edit while you write.

Instead, write your tweet and take a break so you come back to it with fresh eyes.

Trim out unnecessary words, hashtags, mentions, etc.

All signal. No noise.
8/ Use Twitter Analytics

Every month you should check your Twitter analytics and review your top-performing tweets.

• Which tweets performed the best?
• How can you create more of those tweets?
• Who was your top follower and how can you network with them?

Example:
9/ Use Twitter Media Studio

In Media Studio, click Insights, then Audience.

This will show you a graph of when your audience is most engaged.

Schedule your tweets and thread to go out at those times to maximize eyeballs and engagement.

Example:
10/ Read The Twitter Manual

It would be awesome if Twitter provided a manual with the best practices on how to use it.

But they don't.

Fortunately, a few smart users put one together.

And it's free so you don't have to pay $49 for an ebook. https://www.holloway.com/g/using-twitter
That's it for now.
