Looking at fbref/SB data from yesterday's game, a few things stand out compared to normal(with massive caveat that it's one game Vs a team with a very clear style):

- Much more penalty area touches for us
- CB's had relatively less of the ball
- Bale, Son got on the ball a lot
- A lot of ball progression from FBs
- Pressing a bit more, but with a high success rate(3rd highest successful pressures by us all season)
- Relatively fewer pressures in our 3rd
- Many recoveries(4th highest all season
- We were tackled and pressed more than in any other game
- Despite being pressed a lot(highest presses, tackles, passes under pressure all season), Southampton's recoveries and interceptions were quite average. Suggesting our passing and options were good
- Penalty area touches was 3rd highest all season
- Southampton's penalty area touches was 2nd lowest all season
- Saints' Passes received (%) and progressive passes received were among the lowest all season too
- We attempted more dribbles(not very successful) than in any other game
Slightly haphazard thread, but clear to see a lot of good signs here even if it's one game against a stylistically unique side.

A departure from Mourinho's methods apparent as well
