About the logo: "The design combines different elements of nature to symbolize ecology and evolutionary biology. There is a hummingbird as a sign of the official bird of Vancouver, Anna's hummingbird.

The wings are designed as leaves, and the tail can be interpreted as leaves or blades of grass. The leaves, as well as the classic shades of green in the design, are classic symbols to represent ecology and evolutionary biology.

The design is whimsical, and the shapes can be interpreted differently by each viewer. For some, the shapes may resemble fish, waves, even butterflies."
