little taylor swift details that i love: a thread (part 2)
using one word that fits two lines.
eg: “i hit my peak at seven feet in the swing”
the word ‘feet’ has two meanings: a measure and a body part.
“i hit my peak at seven feet” meaning the height she can reach on swing
“feet in the swing” meaning she’s going high on a swing.
not saying “kiss” after “last” and the song ending abruptly because joe jonas broke up with her on the phone out of the blue and the last time she kissed him, she didn’t realise that it was the last time she will kiss him.
in Lover she sings “my my my my lover”
and in DBATC, the intro is “my my my my” and it sounds very dreamy, sort of like she’s remembering that time of being in love.
Lover is track 3, DBATC is track 10.
10+3=13.
having an unsettling piano percussion on ‘tolerate it’ so that the listener has to “tolerate it” for the first few listens to really grasp it, and also to express an discomforting feeling of someone tolerating you instead of loving you
a wine bottle opening sound effect when she says “got the wine for you”
august girl reminiscing on that moment saying “remember when i pulled up and said ‘get in the car’” and james in ‘betty’ reminiscing on that moment saying “she said ‘james get in. let’s drive.’”
both of them land on 2:47 on YT.
AND 3:00 - 2:47 = 0:13 đŸ€Ż
james saying that he hates crowds but fights his hatred and shows up at her party without notice, which makes him have more eyes on him, because he really loves her.
kendall jenner posted this on instagram after taylor was framed by [recacted].
and the second picture is from LWYMMD video.
i don’t think i need to say anything else.
her singing “i get mystified by how this city screams your name” and the city screams that line back to her.
the car door locking sound effect because he’s driving her back to the apartment.
thunder sounds because they “blessed the rains on cornelia street.”
‘Sad, beautiful, tragic’ sounding like a long, sad and gloomy train ride which symbolises the lyric “distance, timing, breakdown, fighting, silence. train runs off it’s tracks.”
sampling the beat for Look What You Made Me Do from ‘Mean Girls’, a show Katy Perry used a reference from to shade her.
the silence that cuts to the core when she sings “here’s the silence...”
the haunting “oooh”s in “my tears ricochet” to further solidify the vibe of the death of a relationship
making “mirrorball” layered, colourful yet gloomy sounding to paint the picture of a sad disco
“The Archer” building up until the end and abruptly ending which shows how it doesn’t even take one second for an arrow to lose all that power that comes from pulling it against the bow string
the chirping birds sounds in both of the Taylor Swift and Bon Iver collaborations.
“closure”, a song about her discord with Big Machine Records, sounding like the destruction of a Big Machine.
she secretly leaves from the side door because he’s standing in the hall near the front door
and probably one of the most obvious ones.
do i even need to say anything? :)
