the word ‘feet’ has two meanings: a measure and a body part.
“i hit my peak at seven feet” meaning the height she can reach on swing
“feet in the swing” meaning she’s going high on a swing.

not saying “kiss” after “last” and the song ending abruptly because joe jonas broke up with her on the phone out of the blue and the last time she kissed him, she didn’t realise that it was the last time she will kiss him.

and in DBATC, the intro is “my my my my” and it sounds very dreamy, sort of like she’s remembering that time of being in love.

having an unsettling piano percussion on ‘tolerate it’ so that the listener has to “tolerate it” for the first few listens to really grasp it, and also to express an discomforting feeling of someone tolerating you instead of loving you

august girl reminiscing on that moment saying “remember when i pulled up and said ‘get in the car’” and james in ‘betty’ reminiscing on that moment saying “she said ‘james get in. let’s drive.’”
