Wanna know the best part of taking autonomy over my own beliefs?

I get to believe whatever the hell I want and nothing that anyone else demands of me gets to have a real impact on anything I decide to believe. Because I get to decide it.
If I want to, I can believe that Jesus was the savior and that Mohammad was a prophet and that families are together forever and that reincarnation exists and that tarot cards and crystals help guide me based off of vibes, and that the Bible is fiction and that god is a woman.
I can choose to believe that I have a soul that existed before this life and that animas have souls and that the Greek gods exist and the Roman gods exist and the Hindu gods exist and simultaneously believe that no gods exist.
Do all of these statements somehow contradict each other? Yep. And do I believe any of them? Maybe. Maybe not. It really doesn’t matter because nothing that any person or institution says can actually determine what I believe in my own heart or mind, and that’s the point.
No one holds a monopoly on belief because belief is arbitrary. It lives inside you and YOU alone get to determine what you believe. Religions don’t hold monopoly on specific beliefs. Even if they try to tell you that they do.
