Queer men in literature should be written by majority queer men, there are out queer men in publishing why are they continuously being passed over in favor of women writing queer men

Which I’ve already said before: women are just as bad at writing men as men are at writing women lol

+ let’s not forget the At least 30 year history of women viewing queer men as accessories/objects and not people

That’s why I don’t like reading women writing queer men. It makes me uncomfortable. Because 9/10 you can TELL they do not have the experience/knowledge to tell this story but are doing it anyways

and it also feels really voyeuristic/gross how they handle it

Not to mention white women ESPECIALLY have a history of taking over spaces/movements of other groups and then pushing them out

I’d rather read a woman of color writing a queer man than a white one

& even then I’d rather just have queer men being allowed to tell stories lol
