It makes me so angry that we live in a country where people believe a white kid, who murdered two people, is somehow right “defending his life,” but automatically assume a Black girl can’t possibly be defending her life.

I’m angry this morning because of how deep the hatred is for Black girls. People will go at lengths to blame them or use them but can’t find the will to believe them, protect them, or love them.

We’re not saying that Black girls are right in everything. What we are saying is that concern for their lives she be had like others.

And before any one says, “she was going to murder the other girl, police had to do it,” let me say this: white men and boys have murdered people, used more than a knife, assaulted police officers, made it to trial with smiles, supported by police, and lived to tell the story.
