Over in the Sanctum group chat we were discussing Bri Davey’s letter to Andrew Demetriou. Felicity asked, who we all sent letters to as kids. A thread:

Shelley wrote to the makers of Imperial Leather soap to ask them why they insisted on wrapping the soap in plastic AND cardboard.

Felicity wrote to the Australian Billy Idol Fan Club.

Tess wrote to the Spice Girls and was devo they never wrote back. She suspects Posh got the letter and never passed it on to the others.

Lucy wrote to Bob Hawke to ask him to stop uranium mining.

Emma wrote to the Hawthorn FC asking if she could run water. They wrote back and said no.

She also wrote to Michael J Fox and endured the most humiliating adolescent convo with her dad to her explaining to her that MJF probs wouldn’t write back.

Rana wrote to Kristi Yamaguchi cos she was deep in a “Yamaguchi” phase.

Nicole wrote to Hawthorn champ Leigh Matthews asking if she could interview him for a story I was writing for Year 12 English.

He wrote back - to tell her to just read his memoir.
