- It's been a tough year with the Corona crisis, but how is your personal performance and condition?

Nishida: Not only in volleyball but also in my daily life, my movements were restricted and I could not go out. It was a year in which I was able to refresh myself by (+)
(+) reviewing my surroundings and making my own efforts amidst various stressful situations.

- There must have been times when the team was in a bad state, but what did you focus on to get back on track?

Nishida: If we can do our best just by straining ourselves, (+)
(+) the result will follow. When we won the Emperor's Cup at the end of the year, I was able to relax in a good way. On the other hand, in the league, with so many games, you start to feel that you must win against this team. I felt that these thoughts were holding back our (+)
(+) play in no small way. Now, I need to win, but more importantly, I can play thinking about what I need to do. This is something I feel in practice and in games.

- As a top player, is there anything that you keep in mind in order to always perform well?
Nishida: In a league tournament, the second day is the day when the conditions drop off a bit. As I spent time after the first day's game preparing for the next day's game, I became more aware of the care I could take for granted, such as taking a long bath to loosen muscle (+)
(+) tension and eating to recover. With so many games, it is difficult to manage the conditions, but I think I have learned to know what condition I am in.

- How is it different from the series of games you had as a student?

Nishida: First of all, the age difference is (+)
(+) significant. When I was in high school, I could do it for as many games as I wanted, but now I can't. There is a part of me that is mentally and physically drained from the continuous matches. Neglecting this can lead to injury, (+)
(+) so I think I'm more aware of how to manage my body than I was in high school.
