The drive to improve our natural world is fantastic but I can already foresee mistakes being made. My concern is that 1.the wrong things are done and 2. The danger will be that we put all emphasis on one aspect that works and then, ignore all others... for example.. (1)
(2) Sea grass is being planted offshore which is great news. Sea Grass Meadows are natural carbon sinks and they store it in the sediment. While this is fantastic, I can foresee government saying we can still build, build, build@and don’t need to rewild or plant more trees.
(3) Equally, if sea grass is used and is highly beneficial as a natural carbon sink, trawling the depths must not happen as carbon will be released. So there has to be a strategic plan.
