i dont think artemis is grifty, chris is obv bright and i think he is honest. i think his process is impressive and the work he’s done is unprecedented, but i have to say i don’t agree with his priors so, to me, his results are no good. respect on the work, disagree on conclusion

chris is obv wayyyyy smarter than i am. i just think that using contemporary data to model pre-1980s data is not useful bc it introduces hindsight bias and also brings in assumptions that are true in modern regimes but are untestable in previous regimes. too many things were diff

i dont think his work is purposely misleading. i think its a good-faith attempt at modeling things that didn’t exist in the past, but i think theres too many unknown unknowns to have confidence in the conclusion. i hope he makes a killing, but i dont find it personally actionable
