50+1 MODEL
The 50+1 rule is a clause that mean a club MUST hold the majority of it’s own voting rights. The rule is designed to ensure that the club's members retain overall control by owning 50% of its shares, +1 share, protecting clubs from the external investors.

What the 50+1 rule does is it gives the fans a powerful voice. In England, the owners have the power to disregard what the fans want and take the club in the direction THEY want to go. They see fans as a revenue stream whereas in Germany, that isn’t a possibility.
FAN VOICE
In 2017, Bundesliga signed a new TV deal which introduced the new Monday Night Football. The fans were outraged as it made it extremely difficult for fans to attend those games. People needed to take days off work and some people just aren’t able to afford that luxury.

After a year of consistent protesting from ALL the Bundesliga clubs, in 2018, the Bundesliga announced that “the DFL will abandon Monday games when the next media rights deal is negotiated”. This will occur in the 2021/22 season.
In 2009, Hannover 96 president Martin Kind put a case forward to abolish the 50+1 rule. This was rejected by the German clubs with 32 out of the 36 clubs in favour of keeping it. Fans even made a "50+1 stays" petition which was signed by over 3,000 fan groups across Germany
TICKET PRICES
The cheapest season ticket of the 2019/20 season was Bayern Munich charging a total of €145 (£125) and the most expensive being SC Paderborn charging €225 (£195). Every ticket ALSO comes with free transportation to the stadium.

These remarkably cheap ticket prices are also a massive reason to why the Bundesliga have the highest attendance of any domestic league in the world. If you live in England, you can actually FLY to Germany AND watch 2 Bundesliga games for the same price as 1 Premier League game.
SUSTAINABILITY
Many clubs around the world are constantly running at a loss whereas the majority of Bundesliga clubs are running at a profit. This is because of the way the German clubs keep costs down as well as owners not using their clubs as businesses to collect their debts.

FAN EXPERIENCE
The Premier League hasn’t had a proper Football experience for the fans for a very long time. It’s almost as if you are not allowed to do anything except sit and watch. You aren’t even allowed to take a beer back to your set.

Germany has a COMPLETELY different experience and one that every fan should get to experience. Safe Standing being the most notable aspect. If implemented correctly, Safe Standing in football enhances the atmosphere and increases the joy a fan experiences from the game.
REASONABLE FINANCES
We all know that the Premier League is way over inflated and it NEEDS to have a bit of a reset financially. Besides Bayern Munich, the wages in the Bundesliga are at a much more reasonable level when you compare that to the Premier League.

CONCLUSION
Overall, this model offers the fans endless amounts much passion for their club. They don’t just feel like another fan. They have the power to uphold the traditions of the club that the fans value and that is what football is all about. It’s more than JUST the result.

It’s having the sense feeling proud supporting YOUR club, not the owners club.
